I walked into the house today and thought I smelled pork chops

(that was really necessary wasn't it? because I'm sure none of you have ever seen a pig before...)

What disturbed me what that I wasn't disappointed! The betrayal! The hypocrisy!

Maybe I should explain for anyone who doesn't regularly talk to me...which probably isn't a whole lot, but...

We're dissecting pigs in biology right now - mine's named Wilbur Latoya. These piglets are ours to dissect because of pork eaters worldwide. If a farmer doesn't want the piglets from a pregnant mother when she goes to be slaugtered, they simply cut out the uterus and the babies die :(

Did I ever mention that the word "uterus" is my all-time least favorite word?

Back to the pigs...poor Wilbur :( I felt so bad when I cut him out of his vacuum sealed bag- (warning- *slightly graphic*) the little guy's tongue was sticking out, and he had a bloody nose and a gash on his head! (he looks much worse now, thanks to me!) But when I bathed him/started cutting, I thought "well, okay, so I won't eat pork for awhile"...

yet I was seduced by the tantalizing aroma of pork! aaah! I don't even like pork chops! I'm SORRY WILBUR!

It wasn't pork, by the way, I must have been imagining things, because we definitely had chicken for dinner.

Anyways. I've been trying to push the memory of my calc quiz to the back of my mind, atleast until I know how I and everyone else did. It wasn't terrible, but it certainly wasn't pretty. I don't like to get my hopes up in that class because it never works out the way I expect it to. I'll just have to continue wearing out my calc flashcards (which swartzie was much amused by, I'd like to note---maybe she'll take into consideration my ardent devotion to anton when time comes to grade my final) But anyways, true brown-noser that I am, I went to her room after class and begged for another grade between now and the final. We have like three grades per quarter in that class. I'm going to be screwed in real college classes, I know it.

I finished my book today! I read Girl With a Pearl Earring---SO GOOD. It's about a maid who poses for Vermeer and falls in love with him. Such a chick book- I loved it :) (take THAT, Jack Kerouac..haha) I think another reason I really liked it was because it had lots of art history in it, with van Leeuwenhoek and a camera obscura and such. Up next: Crime and Punishment, since I gave up on The Picture of Dorian Gray :-\

somebody stop me!

Time to finish the dishes, which I started probably a half hour ago :)
